Hey, Shivranjani! Tell us a little bit about where you’re from, if you have a job other than influencing, your family, etc.
I grew up in Jodhpur, India. I have a Bachelor’s degree in law and pursued it as a career for three years until I moved to the US in 2013. I currently live in Houston, TX with my husband.
How would you describe your personal style?
Whimsical. I love a colorful closet be it bold colors or pastels. I love to mix and match different colors and prints. I levitate towards quirky prints and patterns.
What’s your favorite aspect of fashion?
Individuality. Fashion is a form of expression, an extension of my personality. It may seem like fashion deals with the surface but it has an effect on how you feel. You can create your own unique style.
What’s currently your favorite piece in your closet?
It has to be my jewelry collection. There is no specific piece per se. I have been collecting silver jewelry over the years in India. My mother who has exceptional taste has passed some beautiful traditional gold jewelry to me.
Who is your biggest style inspiration, or style icon?
There are so many stylish women whom I take inspiration from. To name a few – Audrey Hepburn, Kate Moss, Blake Lively, Olivia Palermo. I am also inspired by style bloggers Julia Engel and Alexandra Pereira.
More importantly, dark or milk chocolate?
70% dark
What’s your favorite way to unwind?
Put on a sheet mask. It is so relaxing!
What’s your favorite fashion season?
Spring and Fall because both are transitional seasons which means there is room for experimenting.
What is your favorite social network and why?
I love Pinterest. It is like this amazing catalog that covers everything from food, fashion, travel, home decor, etc. You can get ideas for any project or interest.
If you could give advice to a young person, interested in fashion, and maybe one day hoping to become a blogger or influencer – what would you tell them?
Create content that you genuinely love.
How long have you been a blogger or fashion influencer?
It has been 1 year and 6 months.
How did your blog get started? Any fun stories behind your name?
I had been reading personal blogs for a few years and found them refreshing. I also received encouragement from friends and my sister to start blogging. I realized a blog would be the perfect outlet for me to share my passion for fashion and travel. I wanted the name to be an amalgamation of both these interests. Owing to the nature of my husband’s work, we were moving a lot within the country and were quite the vagabonds ourselves. So it was only fitting to name it The Vagabond Wayfarer.
What are your favorite trends at the moment?
I am loving matching sets at the moment.
If you styled a celebrity– who would it be?
David Beckham (not that he needs any styling)
Which boutiques do you like to shop with, and why boutiques?
These are few boutiques in India that I love to shop at. Cottons, Anokhi, Kilol and Suvasa. I like boutiques because they usually have specialty or niche goods that you won’t find at retail stores.
